TUG AGM 2018

Announcing the TUG Student Prizes to be awarded at this years’ AGM!

The TRIUMF Users Group (TUG) would like to invite students working on TRIUMF-related research to submit their applications for the TUG Student Prize and TUG Poster Prizes that will be awarded at this years’ Annual General Meeting (AGM) on July 19, 2018. The student with the best abstract will be invited to give a 15-minute presentation at the meeting, write an article for the upcoming edition of Physics in Canada focused on TRIUMF’s 50th anniversary and will be awarded a $400 cash prize. All other students will be invited to present their research projects in a rapid oral presentation (poster “slam”/my thesis in 3 minutes format) that will be followed by a more traditional poster and discussion session. Top posters will be awarded the TUG Poster Prizes (1st prize is an article in Physics in Canada plus $400, and the honourable mention will receive $200). All prizes are generously provided by TRIUMF.

Eligibility Criteria:

The TUG Student Prize and TUG Poster Prizes are open to all students whose research is directly related to TRIUMF (performed at TRIUMF or supported partially or wholly with TRIUMF resources). Postdocs who have defended their thesis after January 1, 2018 and all undergraduate students working on TRIUMF related research are also encouraged to apply.

All candidates must register for TRIUMF Science Week by June 24, 2018.
