On Monday, February 10, TRIUMF was pleased to welcome Germany’s Ambassador to Canada Tjorven Bellmann for a brief visit that included a presentation on TRIUMF and the laboratory’s broad portfolio of collaborative work with German institutions, a tour of the lab, and a meet-and-greet with TRIUMF community members of German heritage.
Discussions with Ambassador Bellmann highlighted many strong connections between Canada and Germany in the fields of accelerator physics, quantum computing and machine learning, the development of students and other highly-qualified personnel (HQP), and the value of retaining open lines of dialogue and collaboration between our two countries.
