TRIUMF launches Five-Year Implementation Plan 2025-2030

TRIUMF is pleased to announce the digital publication of TRIUMF’s Five-Year Implementation Plan 2025-2030: Realizing Canada’s Potential, now available on the Reports and Publications page.

This Implementation Plan marks the culmination of several years of strategic planning and, together with TRIUMF’s five-year Request for Support for federal operational funding, completes the first cycle of the laboratory’s inaugural 20-year Vision process.

The Five-Year Implementation Plan articulates a funded program of work, including detailed deliverables that the laboratory is committing to complete across the coming half-decade. The Plan is more than just a roadmap – it is an achievable, results-focused commitment to the future of TRIUMF and to Canada’s leadership in science, technology, and innovation on the world stage.

Developed through extensive internal and external consultation, the Plan outlines how TRIUMF will deliver on its mission over the next five years: to conduct world-class research, translate discoveries into societal impact, and advance Canada’s role in international science.

“I am grateful to the TRIUMF team for the extensive planning that has facilitated the development of this Plan, ensuring it is grounded in a well-defined and comprehensive framework of internal capacities, capabilities, and resources,” said TRIUMF Executive Director and CEO Nigel Smith. “In parallel to the execution of these deliverables, we will advance operational excellence, tackle long-deferred maintenance, and align our talent strategy to ensure we have the people and systems in place to thrive. All of this work is being done to ensure we have the people, infrastructure, and processes required to maintain TRIUMF at the forefront of scientific discovery and innovation.”
