Over the 40+ years of its life, TRIUMF has always put a strong emphasis on safe working practices to protect the health of its workers, its neighbours, and the environment.
TRIUMF implemented a formal Quality Management System (QMS), the design of which is guided by international standards such as ISO 9001. The goal was to create and implement a system that works for a unique environment like TRIUMF and that allows us to objectively demonstrate to ourselves, our users, and our regulator - the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission - that we have a safe, efficient, and productive research environment. This system is still evolving and will continue to improve our ability to deliver reliable value to the larger community.
