August 1970: The Cyclotron Vault walls rise in a skeleton of rebar.
The first concrete "lifts" of what will become the Vault floor and the "surround" of the cyclotron support pad have just been completed. (left and foreground). The foreground concrete is still covered with sacking to keep it wet during curing.
The formwork describing a 12 sided "circle" for the inside of the surround concrete is almost completely installed.
Many layers of re-bar have been placed at the centre of the cyclotron support pad, in preparation for concrete.
