TRIUMF's work towards a low-cost, made-in-Canada ventilator for COVID-19 patients was the focus of a CBC segment that aired on Friday, August 28.

The piece highlighted TRIUMF's role in the Mechanical Ventilator Milano (MVM) project, an international collaboration of that is developing safe, reliable ventilators that can be built using local parts. The project's goal is to significantly increase the number of ventilators currently available for COVID-19 patients across the globe.
The segment, Un nouveau respirateur moins cher et plus pratique conçu à Vancouver, went live on the 6:00 PM news on Friday, August 28.
The Canadian ventilator design, which was developed alongside partners SNOLAB and Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, has been submitted to Health Canada for review and authorization.
