On July 18, 2016 TRIUMF will pay tribute to the passing of one of its founding fathers. The M.K. Craddock Accelerator Science Symposium will honour the late Mike Craddock, TRIUMF’s leading beam physicist for over forty years, who passed away November 11, 2015.
Mike Craddock assumed a wide variety of roles in his TRIUMF career, from being the one to recommend the cyclotron TRIUMF has become famous for, to being the Accelerator Division Head, to acting as the lab’s unofficial historian. Mike was a constant and impressive example of leadership and expertise whose life’s work did not stop with his retirement but continued with organizing conferences, supervising graduate students, giving talks and teaching classes.
TRIUMF is organizing a half-day Accelerator Science Symposium to celebrate Mike’s career and legacy whcih will take place in the TRIUMF Auditorium, on Monday July 18th, 2016 from 1:00 pm until 5:30 pm. The Symposium will feature talks from colleagues throughout Mike's career and will be followed by a reception with salmon a barbeque in the TRIUMF Cafeteria.
