COVID-19 Onsite Incident Tracking (archive - 2021)

TRIUMF will report to staff all probable COVID-19 incidents that directly impact onsite operations. Updates will be posted semiweekly, on Monday and Thursday. As per TRIUMF procedures, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) will follow up with any employees who have been affected by each incident.

Any questions regarding the information on this site should be sent to the covid19taskforce@triumf.ca mailbox with attention to OHS and Human Resources.

January 14, 2021	On January 14, 2021, a member of the TRIUMF community tested positive for COVID-19. The following steps have been taken: HR and OH&S have been informed and determined that the employee had not been onsite in the past nine days Any employees and visitors who came into contact with the individual have been informed and advised to self-monitor Vancouver Coastal Health Authority has been notified; TRIUMF will take further guidance from them and issue further communications as required The areas where the individual was working have been cleaned and sanitized per provincial health authority guidelines There is no additional risk of exposure to staff and visitors. The following steps have been taken: HR and OH&S was informed and an investigation into the individual’s recent time on site was conducted The affected individual was determined to have observed the required mask and physical distancing guidelines while on site and was not in close contact with anyone else during their time at TRIUMF Vancouver Coastal Health Authority has been notified; TRIUMF will take further guidance from them and issue further communications as required The areas where the individual was working have been cleaned and sanitized per provincial health authority guidelines There is no additional risk of exposure to staff and visitors.
