Dear Colleagues:
I am writing to give you a brief update on the progress that we’ve made with the search for the next director of TRIUMF.
As I have previously communicated, our executive search partner Boyden has advanced our global search strategy and followed-up on the many suggestions that have come from both within TRIUMF and the TRIUMF user community.
The consulting partners have now identified a number of highly qualified individuals, a number of whom have shown interest in this position.
Let me remind you of the experience and qualifications required of the ideal candidate for your next director. They should have a strong academic and research background, demonstrated administrative experience, the ability to think strategically with proven leadership and management skills, and along with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, this individual should also be able to build on external relationships with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Over the month of November, the search committee has met twice with the search consultants to review the candidate pool’s qualifications and experience and have begun the vetting process to develop the initial list of candidates to move to the next step. The consultants are now following up directly with those leading candidates to confirm their continued interest and coordinate first interviews, which will take place over the next several weeks.
On behalf of the committee, I am very pleased with the progress that has been made to date and will communicate with you further in early January.
Regards,
Digvir Jayas
