Matt Pearson | Principal investigator Graduated with Bachelors in Arts from Oxford in 1994 before moving on to obtain a PhD in experimental nuclear physics from the University of Manchester in 1998 under the supervision of J. Billowes. Having completed a PhD utilising laser spectroscopy Matt went on to postdoctoral work studying Francium isotopes contained within a Magnetooptical trap at The State University of New York at Stony Brook before moving across to Triumf to work on tests of the standard model via weak interaction studies as part of the Trinat collaboration. Since 2006 Matt has been the PI of the laser spectroscopy collaboration and developed techniques that allow for the measurement of ever more exotic nuclei. |
