Conference tours are the responsibility of the organizing individuals and/or Division to define and enlist lab resources to support. These event leads should begin early in the planning phase to communicate the requirements to host any special group site visit.
The Tour Brief (linked in Docushare) is a planning tool that outlines your conference tour's intended scope, desired facility access, dates and times, designated stops, and number of guests that ultimately define the number of tour groups. This information should be shared with all parts of organization requested to participate. Tour organizers must be prepared to provide guides from within their groups/Division
Note, Where capacity exists GAPS tour guides may also be available to support. However, conferences often require specialty tours whereby public tour trained students may not have all the relevant expertise to provide these expert tours.
- Once Tour Brief has been completed, it is the conference organizers' responsibility to:
- Notify DCR Ops and Hall/Facility Coordinators of any intention to deviate from the public tour route on the given date(s).
- Notify DCR Ops if the tour is expected to occur outside of normal public access hours, which are 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Send a calendar invite with all tour details (date, time, outline of route, number of guests) to reception@triumf.ca. Dosimetry will be prepared based on the number of tour guides required.
- Provide all attendees with Site Safety Information prior to arrival (linked below.)
