A group from Oregon State University (Loveland, Vinodkumar, Sprunger, Prisbrey and Neeway) and the University of Notre Dame (Kolata, Roberts, and Spencer) ran subatomic experiment S1126 at TRIUMF from July 11th to the 24th, attempting to measure the fusion excitation function for the 9Li + 208Pb reaction. |

Some 34 members of the Qweak collaboration from all over North America, including Canadian members from TRIUMF, the University of Northern British Columbia, the University of Manitoba and the University of Winnipeg, met at TRIUMF from July 23rd to the 25th. |

ISAC-II Delivers its first Radioactive Beam to an Experiment. |

A major milestone at TRIUMF was passed Friday January 5, 2007 at 7:09pm when the first radioactive beam, 11Li was delivered from the ISAC-II accelerator by TRIUMF scientist Robert Laxdal, who has led the ISAC-II development from its inception. |

The winners of the inaugural $250,000 NSERC John C. Polanyi Award are the Canadian scientists of the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO) collaboration, who are being honoured for their groundbreaking research on neutrinos which solved a 30-year-old scientific puzzle. |
