This year, inaugural award recipient and current third year biophysics student Walter Wasserman is at TRIUMF working on superconducting radiofrequency cavities. The goal of improving the cavities is to better accelerate the particles in a straight line. Walter works under the supervision of Bob Laxdal, Interim Associate Lab Director, Accelerator Division.
